Duties

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Chief Counsel. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Plan, organize, and implement administrative evaluations, projects, and studies in order to systemically analyze office workflow and data, processes, and procedures for the purpose of simplifying, streamlining, and improving productivity. Track and monitor the completion status of various management functions or special projects, including assigned audits, trainings, and/or congressional, industry, and public inquiries. Identifiy resource requirements (staff, funding, equipment, facilities) to support current and future program operations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-11, you must meet the specialized experience requirements for this position, with at least one (1) full year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent. This experience as provided below, should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience includes: - Working on projects that develop administrative or operational functionality of a program or office; AND - Providing recommendations for improvements via reports or briefings. OR Education: A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degrees. Degrees pursued/attained must be in a related field and from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university generally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. OR A Combination of experience and education: To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement, must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be used in meeting this requirement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the GS-9, you must meet the specialized experience requirements for this position, with at least one (1) full year of experience at the GS-07 level, or equivalent. This experience as provided below, should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience includes: - Supporting an office by ensuring administrative processes function smoothly and effectively; AND - Evaluating office workflow then providing recommendations for improvement. OR Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR A Combination of experience and education: To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement, must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks. For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7level for 52 weeks.
