You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PLANS AND OPERATIONS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER.

Duties

You will support and assist the Installation Emergency Manager (IEM) and IP/Mission Assurance (MA) Program Manager. You will perform training needs analysis, recommends training, develops the EM/IP Training and Exercise Employment Plan, and instructs EM and Incident Command System (ICS) training. You will plan, direct, and coordinate the execution and support of exercises and training to facilitate the execution of the installation IAP, Response, and Emergency Action Plans. You will ensure Exercise Planning Team members are briefed and clearly understand all elements of the exercise to be conducted.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Required to carry a cell phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating, or executing all-hazards training and exercises continually with installation staff and tenants activities; and plans, develops, coordinates, schedules, instructs, or maintains records for all-hazards and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) training programs for the command. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
