The primary purpose of the position is to provide a variety of duties associated with patient care and treatment in one of several clinics and medical facility by coordinating activities of the clinic or medical facility and ensures smooth operation of each day's services. This position is located at the Chinle Service Unit, Division of Nursing Services, Outpatient Nursing Units, Chinle, Arizona.
Duties
Receives patients, visitors and telephone calls.
Escorts patients into treatment areas.
Answers routine medical, personnel and administrative inquires.
Resolves routine patient complaints.
Arrange meetings/visits as directed, coordinates consultative requests and schedules follow-up appointments.
Establishes and maintains a filing system.
Keeps time and attendance by preparing and processing documents.
Resolve clinic problems of scheduling.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS04: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-4 level.
GS05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: receive patients, visitors, and answer telephone calls; refer calls to appropriate staff; resolves routing patient complaints, enters "stat or now" orders for lab, x-rays; prints results; interpret for providers when needed; maintain administrative records, ensures they are complete; records and reports vital signs; order supplies and maintain filing system; keeps time and attendance; and orients new personnel.

GS04: 2 years above high school
GS05: 4 years of education above the high school level.
This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
