You will serve as a SMALL CRAFT OPERATION & REPAIR SUPERVISOR I in the Port Operations Division of NAVAL STATION EVERETT.

Duties

You will perform physical inspections to identify deficiencies, assess damages and determine the appropriate corrective measure. You will advise ships' personnel on available shore services to optimize the services provided and the procurement of the services. You will keep supervisors aware of maintenance jobs in progress, material and equipment needs, and manpower requirements. You will adjust duty assignments to meet mission needs.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. 1) Tracking all spill prevention and response equipment, ensuring adequate equipment is ready at all times and providing status to Port Operations managers; 2) Performing all maintenance and repair on service craft, boats and spill response equipment; assisting with executing booming strategies; 3) Providing maintenance-repair of small boats and marine craft; 4) Placing pier platforms, gangways, barges, and other berthing support; 5) Planning work schedules and sequence of operations for the work force supervised; 6) Establishing shop priorities and determining the number and type of personnel required to accomplish job assignments; 7) Observing work in progress for compliance with required specifications.
