Duties
The incumbent's primary purpose is the supervision of industrial production and operations. The incumbent will also provide administrative and technical supervision to the assigned workforce for the maintenance and repair of Coast guard assets in the assigned area of responsibility. This position is 50% supervision and 50% hands-on work in support of Industrial Service Orders.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:-Receiving general work assignments in the form of written work orders and/or oral instructions, with or without accompanying blueprints, sketches, or specifications.-Estimating labor hours required by various trades, material costs, and equipment requirements for projects.-Establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and coordinating projects with other supervisors, with Coast Guard organizations and customers, and with subcontractors.-Supervising, coordinating, and inspecting work of subordinates.This position will supervise the following types of positions: Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader, Boatbuilder Leader, Boatbuilder, Electrician, Maintenance Mechanic (Elec/HVAC), Marine Machinery Mechanic, Machinist, and Crane Operator.**Incumbent must possess journeyman level knowledge and skill in at least two of the following trades: Electrician, Mason, Welder, Sheet Metal Mechanic, A/C Equipment Mechanic, Marine Machinery Mechanic, Pipefitter or other related trades.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
