National Security Division (NSD) is responsible for developing, enforcing, and supervising the application of all federal criminal laws related to the national counterterrorism and counter espionage enforcement programs, except those specifically assigned to other divisions.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Administrative Specialist, providing administrative support to one or more NSD attorneys engaged in national security litigations related to counterterrorism and counter-espionage matters including Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) related work.
An Administrative Specialist, at full performance level, will perform duties such as but not limited to:
Advises management and staff in the interpretation and application of administrative procedures.
Prepares periodic non-technical statistical and administrative reports.
Establishes local procedures for both incoming and outgoing communication.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Administrative Specialist (FIRS) at (GS-0301-9/11), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
To qualify for the GS-9 Administrative Specialist position you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing procurement of supplies and managing office equipment.
To qualify for the GS-11 Administrative Specialist position you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector maintaining equipment and managing equipment repair contracts, AND performing time keeping duties.
