This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO - Tax Policy. As a Staff Assistant, you will be providing a full range of administrative and project support services.

Duties
As a Staff Assistant, you will:
Independently research, extract, and assemble data from the office files and documents (history files, Congressional documents, White House issuances, etc.), from available sources, for the supervisor's use.
Maintain liaison and contacts with Treasury officials and other sources to obtain data and information used as a basis for policy and procedural determinations.
Review and analyze requests and make independent decisions concerning controversial issues and priorities regarding the supervisor's schedule.
Plan and coordinate meetings; direct the preparation, compilation and distribution of materials to attendees.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS-12: Specialized experience is fifty-two (52) weeks of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience at this level is defined as:
Managing the schedule of an executive level official within a large legal organization; AND
Scheduling domestic and international travel for executives; AND
Analyzing competing demands to determine the priority of the requests to be accomplished factoring in issues such as program or project requirements, staff abilities and assignments; AND
Working in the taxation sector to support leadership in accomplishing policy objectives.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
