Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation (JPATS), Kansas City, Missouri
The selectee of this position serves as a Prisoner Transportation Specialist. You will be responsible for coordinating the transportation and movement of sentenced and unsentenced federal prisoners in the custody of the United States Marshals Service District offices located throughout the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
Duties
As a Prisoner Transportation Specialist at the GS-2101-12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzing prisoner transportation movement requests.
Leading a team of two to four members.
Evaluating standard ground and air routes for efficiency, effectiveness, safety, and security.
Coordinating with USMS district offices, Bureau of Prisons institutions, and federal/state/local correctional facilities.

Qualifications
GS-12 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-2101-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
1. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Coordinating prisoner transportation requests using standard and non-standard transportation criteria; (2) Executing transportation analyses for safe and efficient prisoner movement; (3) Interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations to the release, custody, and transportation of prisoners; and (4) Providing status information and instruction that can be followed by others.
AND
Possession of the following competencies:
Transportation: Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including costs and limits.
Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; uses sound reasoning to arrive at conclusions; finds alternative solutions to complex problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical judgments.
Leadership: Inspires, motivates and guides others toward goal accomplishment; coaches, mentors, and challenges subordinates; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations; models high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual by applying these values to daily behaviors.
