You will serve as an EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST in the COMMAND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will conduct fact-finding into allegations of discrimination by thoroughly researching all aspects of the issues. You will identify barriers to equal employment opportunity for members of above groups within competencies and when necessary during fact-finding. You will analyze the work force of competencies to identify particular occupations and lines of progression (career ladders) in which members of above groups are underrepresented. You will identify systemic and/or other personnel-related problems affecting members of protected groups.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrated knowledge and skill in caseload management; 2) Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and DON equal employment principles, laws, regulations and policies; 3) Thorough understanding of the kinds of management actions and employment practices that constitute barriers to equal employment opportunity to develop staff recommendations to management; 4) Making presentations, analyzing complaints, and writing reports; 5) Managing caseload and other program responsibilities including meeting legal time requirements imposed by regulations and other job requirements. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrated knowledge and skill in caseload management; 2) Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and DON equal employment principles, laws, regulations and policies; 3) General understanding of the kinds of management actions and employment practices that constitute barriers to equal employment opportunity; 4) Assisting in making presentations, analyzing complaints, and writing reports; 5) Assisting in managing caseload and other program responsibilities. master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
