About the Position: Serves as Emergency Manager for the US Army Garrison within the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security.

Duties

Organize, plan, and coordinate various emergency response programs with Federal, state, and local entities. Develop programs for providing necessary emergency guidance as well as required training to installation personnel. Develop and post current information concerning actual or hypothetical (for exercises) floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, storms, and man made disasters on appropriate maps and charts in the EOC. Support the installation operational security program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is considered Mission Essential.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance unless Installation mission requires an upgrade of security clearance.
  • Employee may be required to serve on rotating shifts during emergencies or training exercises.
  • Employee is subject to 24-hour recall to perform emergency response duties. May include tour(s) of duty on weekends or nights to support training for or during actual emergency operations.
  • Travel outside local commuting area may be required up to approximately 15%.
  • A one-year probationary period is required.
