This position is located in the D.C. Superior Court, Family Court-Court Social Services Division (CSSD) and is classified under law enforcement. The incumbent works in coordination with the Deputy Director and Director in providing leadership and guidance across the region; serves as an experienced member of the branch responsible for cases assigned and designated to appropriate satellite offices based on criteria established for all satellite offices and police service areas.  

Duties

The incumbent in this role leads one of two (2) supervision Regions which house four (4) pre-trial and post-disposition probation supervision teams stationed in satellite offices uniquely located throughout the city.

  • This position is classified under law enforcement system.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Human Services, Business or Public Administration, plus six (6) years of experience in a human/social service program geared toward children, adolescents and their families and three (3) years managing staff. Successful completion of the District of Columbia Courts Management Training Program is equivalent to one year. Appointees to this position must not have passed their 37th birthday in the month of appointment in order to qualify for mandatory law enforcement separation/retirement at age fifty-seven.  Previous qualifying law enforcement experience under CSRS or FERS may be counted toward eligibility.
