Responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair of water, steam, vacuum, and gas systems and their associated piping distribution systems. Extensive knowledge of the plumbing trades and the interrelationship between pressure of steam-gas, water, vacuum and medical gases. Must be able to work on own from prints and drawings. Periodically inspects piping, valves, control fittings and auxiliary equipment.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to: Installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of all varieties of plumbing and gas piping systems and mechanical equipment. Analyze defects or malfunctions of steam systems, water systems and gas systems including piping and all auxiliary equipment. Install, repair, assemble, or replace gauges, steam traps, thermostatic controls, unit heaters, gas fired incinerators, toilets, urinals lavatories, sinks and tubs. Install, repair or replace physiotherapy equipment, showers, dishwashing machines, control valves, hot water generators, still, autoclaves and sterilizers, expansion joints and heat exchangers. Cut thread and install Black iron, galvanized, lead, wrought iron, malleable, copper, brass, plastic and glass pipe. Weld, braze, solder, silver solder, black iron, copper, brass, and stainless steel pipes. Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, Tuesday-Saturday, or Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm,7:00am-3:30pm, or 3:00pm-11:00pm Position Description Title/PD#: Pipefitter/PD02903A Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit as work involves lifting, pulling, climbing, crawling, working with hands over head, working in confined areas. Will be on your feet for long periods of time either standing, walking, working off ladders or staging materials, and lift equipment weighing 60lbs and over. Will request assistance when needed to avoid injury.
