Duties
You will apply security principles, concepts, and methodologies of technical surveillance countermeasures.
You will collect and maintain data, analyze threats posed to systems, and initiate appropriate investigative actions.
You will analyze and research existing and potential physical and electronic threats directed towards Department of Navy worldwide.
You will assist with completing electronic, visual, and physical security examinations to ascertain areas are free of technical security hazards and weaknesses.
You will identify physical security vulnerabilities.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance prior to entrance (subject to CI scope polygraph).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Obtain national TSCM certification.
- This position requires a medical examination.
- Pass pseudo-isochromatic color perception test, not to exceed four incorrect identifications out of fourteen test plates.
- Hearing whispered voice within 15 feet without hearing aid.
- Hearing acuity test results per audiometer test, not to exceed 30 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges.
- Must complete a course in electronics fundamentals.
- This position may require temporary carry of a firearm in the performance of duties.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-9 level if you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing active IT/computer, Radio Frequency (RF), electronics, or intelligence functions.
You qualify for the GS-11 level if you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: using Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) investigative techniques to select and use the proper technical equipment and operational techniques for investigative applications and operations.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
