This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Business Operations Section, St Louis Division.
This position(s) primary purpose is to exercise independent judgment and discretion in assisting in the preparation and processing of confidential employee matters. The incumbent will also maintain and coordinate the administrative support program by initiating and ensuring effective communication, coordination, and follow-up action with other Divisions.
Duties
As a Mission Support Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Gathering data, establishing electronic files and databases, composing correspondence, and assisting with the preparation of reports and briefings on special projects.
Preparing requests for personnel actions.
Performing vehicle management, including ensuring timely maintenance, service, repairs, supplement equipment, and documentation.
Completing routine logistics functions to include supply management, inventory management, accountable property management, facility management, and transportation and fleet management/maintenance.
Providing advice and guidance to management concerning the administration and implementation of the law enforcement program.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.
Applicants applying for the GS-09 level must meet one of the following requirements:
A) Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-07 grade level.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support functions to an office related to the operations of various programs, such as administrative, human resource liaison, internal control, logistics, fleet, personal property (accountable and non-accountable), supply management, quality assurance, records management, and Task Force management; 2) Assisting senior specialists in the preparation and processing of confidential employee matters; 3) Carrying out specified segments of specific projects (e.g., data collection and analysis, preparing reports, briefings, etc.); and 4) Providing advice to staff and customers related to administrative support programs and its procedures.
OR
B) Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B or J.D., if related. NOTE: Graduate education must provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

B) Education: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree NOTE: Graduate education must provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
