This position is located in the Division of Finance (DOF), Treasury Operations of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is responsible for General Travel Regulations, customer service performance standards, and management reports to administer an efficient and effective program.

Duties
Assists the Manager, Travel Services Section, in improving the efficiency and productivity in travel audit functions.
Provides expert guidance to FDIC employees and management through on-the-spot counseling regarding the interpretation and application of the General Travel Regulations.
Gathers pertinent background information from travel related sources in support of recommendations to higher management concerning needed changes to current travel policies and practices.
Researches and then writes the policies and procedures regarding travel services.
Coordinates responses to OIG/GAO audits of travel policy and audit functions.
Completes reconciliations of assigned travel related accounts/transactions, and reviews reconciliations.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) providing advice and guidance on policies and procedures for audit programs; 2) applying analytical methods and techniques to identify and propose solutions relate to travel policy and audit programs; and 3) maintaining and reporting statistical and financial data used for reports and studies.
