Duties
Apply analytical techniques to system development lifecycles to ensure information technology requirements are met.
Monitor daily operations of various Law Enforcement Telecommunications and Data Systems ensuring systems are run in accordance with regulations.
Execute oversight of integrated communications for emergency services vehicles to ensure systems are operational.
Provide technical advice and/or recommendations on major problem areas of emergency services technologies to enhance the productivity levels in the organization.
Serve as a focal point in providing communication between employees and management to assure requirements are satisfied in an expeditious manner
Conduct studies preliminary to application system changes to meet special requirements by evaluating the benefits of various equipment configurations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of the position require the incumbent to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the Information Assurance Technical Level II and Information Assurance Management Level I certification.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain updated certifications per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR-25-2 and as detailed in the information assurance (IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practice (BBP).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 or equivalent: maintaining existing systems, including troubleshooting, problem solving, upgrading, and debugging, monitoring daily operations of various telecommunications and Data Systems, and providing technical guidance in the areas of hardware and software technologies.

Education: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management

A degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development and adaptation of applications, systems networks. A transcript (official or unofficial) or course listing must be submitted with your application package.
In addition to the Minimum Qualifications, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies as listed below;

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
