You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR at SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD GREAT LAKES.

Duties

You will provide classroom and laboratory instruction, curriculum maintenance, and evaluated feedback of student progress across a spectrum of U.S. Navy Accession Level Combat Systems Courses. You will use approved curriculum, demonstrations, and practical exercises to develop and reinforce advanced electronic principles, use of General Purpose Test Equipment and basic proficiency in troubleshooting. You will monitor, evaluate and supervise trainee performance through quizzes, comprehensive exams, remediation, homework, and performance based testing. You will evaluate and counsel trainees enrolled in Electronics Technician, Fire Controlman, Interior Communication Electricians, and Gunner's Mate A schools on their performance and document into trainee records. You will review and make recommendations for changes in curriculum and/or course material that involve substantive matters.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing instruction in classrooms and laboratories for Naval Combat Systems (e.g., Electronics Technician, Fire Controlman, Interior Communication Electrician and/or Gunners Mate); 2) Performing practical exercises in advanced electronics to demonstrate troubleshooting techniques; 3) Utilizing General Purpose test Equipment to test and isolate electronic systems and malfunctions; 4) Creating curriculum and generating written tests to evaluate student performance; and 5) Maintaining accurate student records. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
