You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (WATER SURVIVAL) of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.
Duties
You will determine the manner in which to best convey the course material to the students.
You will conduct aquatic training activities for large groups of people both in pool and on deck.
You will administer swim qualification tests.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizes instructional and developmental teaching methods, rules, and procedures; 2) Conducts swim instructional training activities and formal classes in water survival techniques and underwater breathing; and 3) Instructing a diverse group of personnel. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will be required to obtain the following certifications within the prescribed timelines: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguarding, Standard First Aid, Water Safety Instructor and/or current military equivalent, Oxygen Administration, and Blood-Borne Pathogen.
Education
Those who do not have the specialized experience listed under the Qualifications section may qualify with education or a combination of education and experience as follows:
EDUCATION/TRAINING SUBSTITUTION FOR GENERAL/SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Successful completed one full year of graduate level education in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Successful completed a bachelor's degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled with superior academic achievement.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
