You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Vendor/Storage Management) in the Navy Household Goods/ Personal Property Shipping Office of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will acts as point of contact for all household goods shipment management functions related to invoicing, Storage in Transit/Non-temporary Storage (SIT/NTS), and providing Transportation Service Provider (TSP) quality assurance oversight. You will approves/disapproves invoices and pre-approves accessorial service submitted by Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) or contractors. You will manage shipments in both Storage-in-Transit (SIT) and Non-Temporary Storage (NTS).

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-05 You must have one year of Transportation Clerk specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates knowledge and application of one or more standardize transportation regulations, methods and practices to perform a variety of transportation support assignments and resolve problems in connection with the storage and/or movement of personal property such as household goods, privately owned vehicles, etc. by Government or commercial means. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Review orders and determine extent of entitlements in support of the shipment and storage of personal property including household goods and privately owned vehicles; 2) Preparing shipping documentation which may include determining excess cost; 3) Utilize automated information systems to input a range of standard information; 4) Ensure all required supporting documents are digitally scanned and cataloged into database; 5) Enter shipping invoices into a financial or accounting system or an equivalent automated invoice/payment system to process payment requests; and 6) Contact customers, vendors, Transportation Service Providers (TSPs), etc. ensure shipment changes, inspections, administrative issues, and movement requirements. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, if required; This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business or technical school.

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
