Duties
Major duties include the following:
Manage the Eastern Incident Management Team (EIMT) program.
Support, coordinate, and Improve emergency services for NPS preparedness in responses to all-hazard incidents.
Manage Emergency Operation components to include but not limited to emergency management (activities during response) and Emergency Operations Center.
Develop and prepare emergency management plans, procedures, risk assessments, standards, regulations, training, directives, and guidance.
Provide, coordinate, and develop training for emergency response.
Develop preparedness training, develop emergency training exercises, and assessment of trainings.
Coordinate and act as a liaison with park units, regional offices, and higher departments on matters of emergency preparedness and response.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Providing the planning, developing, coordination, and execution of program management; emergency procedures, risk assessments, management of training and exercise programs in support of Emergency Management. Examples where this experience could have been gained include responding to emergencies, emergency support management, management of exercise programs in support of Emergency Program, mastery of emergency response principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to accident/ incident response, serving as an Emergency Program Manager. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
