This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), in BJA's Operations Office. DOJ's mission is to uphold the rule of law, keep the country safe and protect civil rights. BJA's mission is to provide leadership and services in grant administration and criminal justice program development to support local, state and Tribal justice strategies to achieve safer communities.

Duties

Serves as an Administrative Specialist in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Operations Office (OO). Manages the Bureau of Justice Assistance's credit card and handles monthly reconciliations. Manages tasks such as FedEx, mailers, onboarding, offboarding, and administrative meetings for new staff. Provides guidance to management, offering recommendations to ensure the efficient and economical use of equipment and property. Manages the property function, overseeing the preparation of necessary documents for acquiring and disposing of property. Serves as a contracting officer's representative (COR) or task monitor for administrative and communications contracts.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Assists with administrative tasks related to supply management, property oversight, and office moves. Establishes and/or maintains systems for controlling the purchase and use of supplies. Assists in developing and/or implementing new methods for coordinating administrative tasks. Assists with routine tasks related to administrative expenses, including disseminating guidelines and procedures for travel, equipment, and purchases. Performs routine budget and procurement activities. Substitution of Education for Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.
