You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will have extensive knowledge in electrical surface craft systems (i.e. Power Distribution, Power Generation, Ships Control and IC, Motors and Controllers, and Temporary Services.)
You will provide guidance on Technical Work Document (TWD) writers working on aspects of material ordering, including proper analysis of procurement lead times with existing procurement systems.
You will independently prepare engineering instructions and procedures required to execute complex projects.
You will resolve technical and nontechnical issues via deficiency forms (DF), New Work Assessments (NW A), Departures From Specification (DFS),
and Liaison Action Requests (LAR).
You will provide guidance to technical reviewers of Work Items and CFRs. Generates metrics to capture and resolve systemic technical deficiencies.
You will assign, schedule, and issue Task Group Instructions (TGIs), CFRs, accomplishment of DFS development/adjudication and support of technical guidance needs for emergent work
You will coordinate efforts on engineering/planning projects with personnel from engineering and planning codes and production shops when a satisfactory conclusion is dependent upon the performance of several cognizant activities.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and identifying electrical engineering problems and make recommendations for the planning and technical support in the maintenance, repair, and modernization of shipboard electrical systems.
