Duties
Fabricate and install electrical control and monitoring systems for research projects.
Modify and troubleshoot electrical circuits and systems to meet specific requirements.
Plan and layout electrical work by interpreting engineering drawings and performance criteria.
Select and apply appropriate techniques and tools to check electrical system characteristics.
Interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer's instructions to determine power requirements.
Develop and adapt electrical circuits to function under various environmental conditions
Work with engineers and scientists to design or modify electrical circuits based on project needs
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical examination
- This position requires call back or emergency overtime.

Qualifications
There are no specific length or level of experience requirements. The applicant's overall background of experience, education, and
training must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform electrician duties, such as installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components without more than normal supervision.
Applicants must pass the screen-out question and achieve an overall score of at least fifty percent (50%) or higher on the self-assessment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
