Duties

You will coordinate events (e.g., tours, media activities) to represent an installation and command personnel in civil or public affairs and community relations. You will plan and implement community outreach initiatives to promote understanding of the command's public affairs program. You will arrange for agency representatives to speak at local cultural, educational, fraternal, civic, and service groups. You will develop written materials which transmit information concerning the nature and purpose of the organization's programs. You will manage an organizations' website and social media presence including the scheduling and positing of articles, photos, videos, and informational updates. You will manage the command's media presence including collaboration on the collection, development, scheduling and positing of articles, photos, videos, and informational updates to inform the public about the base and its mission.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Producing written information for audiences with different levels of understanding; 2) Presenting information orally in a logical, clear, and concise manner; and 3) Disseminating information between the Installation and local community. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants may meet the specialized experience with the following education: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, or a combination of graduate education and specialized experience equivalent to 100% of the total requirement.
