This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Assign control numbers and affixes tags to equipment. Receive material from users and returns to stock. Conduct periodic studies of equipment records and physical inspection of storage bin area for suspect excess items. Equipment audits on a quarterly basis to determine if equipment remains in use and is in good repair. Review monthly computer run-off showing items delinquent for cyclic calibration.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. You must successfully complete and pass a NATIONAL AGENCY CHECK WITH WRITTEN INQUIRIES (NACI, Tier 1).
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT ~ without more than normal supervision. 1) Issuing tools, equipment, and supplies to employees; 2) Analyzing data collected during audits and compiling reports on discrepancies; 3) Conducting physical inventories of items on hand; and 4) Scheduling equipment for repairs and recertification. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that requires him to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Employee frequently lifts and carries equipment that weighs up to 10 pounds. May occasionally handle items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Hand-trucks, dollies and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in a storage area which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated, but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises.
