This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Control the receipt, identification, issue, storage, certification, inventory and turn-in of electronic test equipment, fixtures, end items, components, accountable as Category I (Common Use) and Category II (Special Purpose) customer assets.
Conduct periodic studies of equipment records and physical inspection of storage bin area for suspect excess items. Uses the Automated Tool Inventory Control and Tracking System (ATICTS) for control and accountability.
Perform Category I and Category II equipment audits on a quarterly basis to determine if equipment remains in use and is in good repair.
Review monthly computer run-off showing items delinquent for cyclic calibration.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment and annual physicals are required.
- One year probationary period may be required.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision. 1) Issuing tools, equipment, and supplies to others and ensuring items are returned to stock; 2) Conducting physical inventories of items on hand; and 3) Scheduling equipment for repairs and recertification. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that requires him to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Employee frequently lifts and carries equipment that weighs up to 10 pounds. May occasionally handle items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Hand-trucks, dollies and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a storage area which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated, but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises.
