About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion, Seattle, WA. In this position, the incumbent supports the Battalion by processing military human resources (HR) actions.
This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position may be made permanent without further competition.

Duties
Prepare and process a wide range of military HR actions in support of the Battalion, associated companies, and recruiting stations.
Arrange for awards and promotions ceremonies.
Prepare and monitor requests for identification (ID) card and tag issuance.
Conduct out-processing to assist separating personnel.
Process incoming and outgoing official mail.
Track office supply inventory to identify replenishments as needed.
Type military and nonmilitary correspondence in draft and final copy.
Prepare and maintain records in accordance with established guidelines, such as, Army Record Information Management System (ARIMS).
Process a variety of military personnel orders, e.g., temporary duty (TDY) and travel, training, reassignment, retention, etc.
Use automated military HR systems, such as, Electronic Military Personnel Office (EMILPO) and Army Recruiter Information Support System (ARISS), to process actions and obtain and/or maintain data and information.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- TERM employment is subject to a one-year trail period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Screening personnel records to verify information 2.) Filing documents in accordance with established guidelines 3.) Entering routine data elements into manual or automated personnel systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
