You will serve as a VISUAL INFORMARION SPECIALIST in the Graphics Department of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will plan and designs the visual aspects of presentations where the general format and specific themes require some research to achieve a specific visual effect. You will provide display and Exhibit to include proposed scale drawings, narrative mock up, preliminary selection of photography/illustrative materials, and proposed production methods and estimated costs. You will print materials include pamphlets, brochures, flyers, manuals, and reports. You will research different areas to select appropriate visual materials, and studies manuscripts, notes, and background material to gather ideas in creating the best visual means of portraying information through use of material already available. You will select appropriate visual media from available sources on the basis of its specific illustrative value in representing the factual information or specific operations/occurrences to be communicated in visual form. You will modify and adapt materials to meet presentation, publication objectives and recommend production of original materials. You will work with a diversity of customers in developing printed material, exhibits, and presentations which require specific visual materials to communicate information. You will discuss project plans and requirements to clarify information or recommend possible substitutes for materials from the standpoint of conveying the information, reproductive, or visual effects. You will establish and monitor clearly defined local visual information policy and management controls.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Plan, organize, manage, or perform work relating to communicating information through visual means, for use within the training environment. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
