You will serve as a VISUAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will oversee all aspects of assigned projects, prepare plans, set resupply levels, evaluates staff and analyze project requirements based on client specifications, and independently determine how to achieve expected results. You will originate and develop ideas for clients, objectively based upon the needs of commands, staffs, and/or training officers. You will translate verbal/written information into original graphic/Visual Information artwork, often working without benefit of prescribed formats, pictures, or diagrams. You will research technical reference sources to ensure that illustrations and text are factually accurate representations and determine their reproduction and aesthetic quality. You will supervise the planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating the work of section personnel consisting of combat graphics specialists and combat photographers. You will research and recommend computer equipment and software needs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of sitting, recurring bending, stooping, lifting up to 40 lbs., reading and excellent dexterity.
  • Chemicals such as ammonia, paints and thinners may be in some of the workspaces. Must have normal color vision.
  • Odors produced by various chemical products and art supplies must be tolerated for short periods.
  • The handling of irritant or hazardous substances may require special safety precautions and the use of protective items of clothing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing centralized Visual Information and production support to all major commands and tenant organizations and other government agencies; AND developing a variety of conventional Visual Information products that depict or present subject matter information or ideas.
