Duties

Provides audit liaison and financial advice to procurement officials covering highly complex functions of on-site customer's acquisition center. Serves as a DCAA point of contact at procurement commands to identify and analyze trends in procurement cycle impacting government contract costs and DCAA's workload and use of resources. Facilitates effective communication and coordination between procurement officials and DCAA auditors. Represents DCAA in meetings with procurement where discussion includes issues that impact DCAA's relationship and work with procurement commands.

Qualifications

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp. Basic Requirements: Degree: accounting or a related field (such as business administration, finance, or public administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law). OR Combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting experience or a combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor. Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: Leading and executing complex audit assignments, serving as the senior auditor on the team. Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing or modifying audit programs to align with identified risks. Engaging with auditees to communicate audit objectives, gather necessary information, and discuss findings. Performing detailed examinations of accounting systems, records, internal controls, and management practices to ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulations. Preparing organized and well-documented audit work papers with thorough substantiating evidence. Compiling initial audit determinations to identify deficiencies or noncompliance Preparing reports detailing audit findings, conclusions, and actionable recommendations. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
