About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Security Guard. GS-0085-09, located at the Blue Grass Army Depot, Richmond KY.
Duties
Serves as a Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at Blue Grass Army Depot.
Provides significant support to the overall installation Anti terrorism and Force Protection capability of the Depot.
Performs managerial duties relating to the Depot's security guard force.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance for the duration of their employment.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) of up to 5%.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
- The incumbent is subject to the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program IAW AR 190-56.
- The incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
- The incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
- The incumbent must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
- The incumbent may not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
- The incumbent must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) supervising the activities of subordinate guard forces; (2) implementing decision making techniques to assess the nature of a perceived threat; (3) performing administrative duties relating to the subordinate employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
