Joining the Secret Service, Office of Protective Operations, Presidential Protective Division will allow you to utilize your administrative expertise to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations in support of the agency's mission of protecting key persons, places, and events.
Duties
The selectee will serve as an Administrative Specialist in the Office of Protective Operations, Presidential Protective Division. Typical work assignments include:
Ensuring administrative functions are conducted in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
Providing logistical and operational support to managers and staff; resolving administrative problems related to staff actions and assignments.
Identifying trends and patterns to make recommendations that enhance workflow and/or increase efficiencies.
Utilizing a variety of office automated programs, applications, tools, and systems to generate reports, graphics, charts, graphs, presentations, metrics and data analytics that can be used by senior-level stakeholders to communicate initiatives.
Advising internal and external stakeholders on all procedural and administrative functions; providing guidance on appropriate response to actions.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Overseeing all aspects of administrative functions (e.g., financial administration, inventory control, record management, human resources, travel management, etc.) throughout an office;
Coordinating logistical operations support to facilitate the tracking, analysis, evaluation, and/or implementation of program actions; and
Delivering reports, presentations, and/or other documents to communicate program information to various stakeholders
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
