The primary purpose of this position is to perform all duties assigned to the Asset Management Section accomplishing receipt, inspection, storage, self-life management, mobilization, and deployment of Individual Protective Equipment (IPE), Individual Equipment Unit (IEU), Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radiological (CBRN) equipment.

Duties

Receives, examines, verifies, and identifies complex categories of materials and equipment, such as those which are toxic, radioactive, perishable, classified, high-valued equipment, precious/strategic metals, and complex electronic or mechanical equipment, assemblies, and components. Maintains an aggressive surveillance inspection program on stored/on-hand items. Receives, examines, and determines condition of a wide variety of complex items and materials to be turned in/removed. Monitors special programs, computerized listings, and documentation/records. Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches. Uses and maintains tools. Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.

  • The duties of this position require the employee to drive a motor vehicle or operate materiel handling equipment inclusive of fork lifts up to and inclusive of 10-ton lift capacity. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: The work requires moderate to heavy lifting when moving material by hand or hand truck; walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for theWG-6900 Warehousing And Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.
