Become part of the team that safeguards the financial system from the abuses of financial crime. At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Arrange events in support of anti-money laundering/counter the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) and illicit finance work streams domestically and internationally. This includes logistics, planning, coordination, etc. Stakeholders may include law enforcement, foreign governments, and high-level officials. Maintain correspondences with international officials on matters related to financial crimes. Serve as a liaison with financial management staff on accounting and budget issues; acquisitions services on procurement matters; and management services on a wide array of services, with FinCEN's training staff, and with security. Maintain a variety of references, guidelines, records and materials to assist management and staff in researching and determining the requirements and specifications relevant to programmatic matters. Serve as an internal source of expertise on administrative practices, advising staff on the requirements and available options. Perform other administrative functions, as assigned.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as on year of experience at the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Engaging with diverse customers and stakeholders (international, law enforcement, etc); AND - Prepares travel arrangements and services in connection with conferences, meetings, or briefings; AND - Prepares and organizes materials for senior officials' briefings, speeches, meetings, or in response to external requests. Specialized experience for the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Prepares travel arrangements and services in connection with conferences, meetings or briefings; AND - Consolidates and organizes information from staff for senior officials reports. OR 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR LL.M., if related OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
