This is a position located in Nursing Service, Cheyenne VA Health Care System (CVAHCS), which composes a career ladder structure to the full performance level of Program Support Assistant, GS-0303-07. PD# 442-14492-O. The primary purpose of the position serves as the Home Based Primary Care Program Support Assistant assigned to Nursing Service at the CVAHCS. The position supports the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) activities throughout the health care system.
Duties
Duties
Accepts telephone calls from patients/ Caregivers and HBPC staff in the field, community agency staff and fields concerns.
Composes correspondence as indicated to assist with clinical functions of HBPC Staff.
Composes reports and meeting minutes as directed by HBPC Program Director.
Is proficient at Microsoft programs ( Outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint) to create agendas, reports, letters etc.
Tracks and maintains master spreadsheet of HBPC veterans and Care plan dates for weekly IDT.
Submits monthly VISTA AUSTIN Report to national.
Maintains incoming and outgoing faxes/ orders with Community Partners.
Orders supplies for office needs.
Completes yearly equipment inventory management.
Tracks and maintains Fleet records for HBPC program, coordinates car schedules for staff.
Primary Time Keeper for HBPC and Chemo, Back up timekeeper as assigned.
Serves as Primary Records Liaison.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

GS-6
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience GS-6: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: serves in a developmental capacity at the GS-6 level. Key functions will be similar to those described at the full performance GS-7 level of the target position. However, during the developmental assignment, full performance range and level of selected functions will not be completely delegated to the employee until proper orientation and training have been completed and the incumbent has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the work at the full performance level. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities are adequately obtained through the satisfactory performance of progressively more difficult assignments that are essentially and substantially identical in duties and responsibilities in nature as described in the full performance positions description. However, assignments are limited in scope and depth and more supervision is provided.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items (medical records, computing devices, manuals, papers, books, small parts), or driving an automobile. The work requires manual dexterity for computer data entry, office machine operation and filing. However, in general, the work does not require unusual physical demands. The work does require emotional stability to resolve crisis situations.
