You will serve as a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.

Duties

You will receive all visitor and telephone calls to the Front Office. You will review all outgoing correspondence for neatness, accuracy, adherence to established format, and adherence to policies. You will draft correspondence, such as routine official correspondence, social and personal acknowledgements, congratulatory letters, acceptance letters, and routine office reports. You will act as a liaison for special administrative projects on behalf of the Front Office. You will use multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents You will maintain the Front Office daily calendar, make appointments, arrange conferences and meetings, and arrange for transportation and lodging of participants.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing incoming correspondence to determine appropriate action and checking outgoing correspondence for accuracy and adherence to policies. Experience utilizing systems like the Defense Travel System to manage transportation and lodging for customers. Experience implementing protocol functions when preparing for official office visits from dignitaries. Experience operating office automation software to produce documents and performing SharePoint administrative duties. Experience working with and managing FITREP documents. Experience analyzing office and agency programs and/or personnel issues to develop recommendations to solutions to problems. For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing incoming correspondence to determine appropriate action and checking outgoing correspondence for accuracy and adherence to policies. Experience utilizing systems like the Defense Travel System to manage transportation and lodging for customers. Experience implementing protocol functions when preparing for official office visits from dignitaries. Experience operating office automation software to produce documents and performing SharePoint administrative duties. Experience working with and managing FITREP documents. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and post high school education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

For GS-07:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education
OR
Successfully completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.
OR
A combination of experience and post high school education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
