This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, Division of Financial Management.

Duties

At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Plans and conducts financial management analysis of complex processes to ensure data consistency and integrity. Identifies problems and discrepancies and determines if adjustments or corrections are required. Develops innovative recommendations for eliminating problems or improving the process and documents and presents findings to all levels of management. Collaborates with all levels within the organization to review and evaluate existing processes and the effect of new or revised regulatory changes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: Training or experience of accounts payable or receivable. Knowledge of and/or experience using Microsoft Excel. OR Master's or Equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degreORLL.B. or J.D., if related Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level.You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
