About the Position: This position is with the 76th U. S. Army Reserve (USAR) Operational Response Command G1 located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.

Duties

Manage both military and civilian drug testing and training programs. Orchestrate the implementation of substance abuse and urinalysis procedures and programs. Organize the yearly drug test training prevention program. Inform new employee and Soldiers on Employee Assistance Programs. Provide technical support to senior leaders. Advise on program procedures and update directives for improvement. Administer the forensic alcohol breathalyzer detection equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent of this position must gain and maintain Drug Test Coordinator certification within 9 months of assuming position and recertify every 3 years as a Drug Test Coordinator.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Occasional travel away from the duty (TDY) station may be required up to 15% of the time.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assist with managing the drug testing program; and 2) Organize training sessions for urinalysis testing; and 3) Prepare reports on drug and alcohol testing program data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: sociology, psychology, counseling, and social work. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
