This is a Fall Student Intern appointment (90 days) in the Pathways Program. May be extended and upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship Program requirements in accordance with 5 CFR 362.204 (work experience hours, satisfactory performance, educational requirements, mandatory training completion, etc.) interns may be non-competitively converted to a term, career conditional or career appointment within 120 days to a position and grade deemed qualified (No Guarantee).
Duties
The position can either be in the Office of Energy (OE) or the Office of Infrastructure (OI) Department of the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). DFC is America's development bank. DFC partners with the private sector to finance solutions to the most critical challenges facing the developing world today.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Review applications for financing, including reviewing existing financial statements of the sponsor or of the project.
- Build, analyze, and run sensitivities on financial models of projected project cash flows.
- Write country political and economic summaries and political risk analyses.
- Review newly submitted applications for financing and for political risk insurance to identify which parties need to have Character Risk Due Diligence ("CRDD") conducted.

- Will be required to serve on a trial period during the duration of the Pathways appointment.

- Must be a current and continuing student in college, trade school or other qualifying educational institution.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
A. Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies;
OR
B. One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields International Development, International Business, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field. The education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:
If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION is education acquired outside of any State of the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, a Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, or any territory or possession of the U.S. If you are using foreign education to meet qualification and/or eligibility requirements, you must submit a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency (a U.S. private organization's interpretation that such education has been deemed at least equivalent to conventional U.S. education programs or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university)
