About the Position: Position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, Engineering Division, Dam Safety Production Center. May be located in Sacramento, CA / Los Angeles, CA / San Francisco, CA / Albuquerque, NM / Lakewood, CO.
Duties
As branch chief, manages specific aspects of the Center's broad range of dam safety and related public works infrastructure safety missions and programs.
Develops and directs the branch's efforts to manage the regional execution of complex, non-routine, regional and inter-regional dam safety modifications, engineering assessments and risk and reliability analyses.
Delegates technical and administrative authorities for daily work accomplishment.
Prioritizes all dam safety modifications, studies, designs, and remediation work to be completed by the branch.
Requirements

- Must obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license

Basic Requirement for Engineering:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience demonstrating the full scope of engineering management in dam safety engineering and Civil Works projects, with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology. This experience should include, but is not limited to, project technical management and leadership, contract acquisition, execution and oversight. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.For this job, you MUST meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Have an active Professional Engineering (PE) License and/or Professional Geologist Registration in good standing issued by any one of the 50 states, or its territories.
