You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (EMPL REL/LABOR REL) in the HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE (HRO) of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties

You will resolve minor employee problems pertaining to employee conduct or performance dissatisfaction, poor work habits, tardiness and absences. You will conduct interviews to draw out and organize pertinent facts and consider alternate ways of solving problems. You will assist with providing guidance and support to the workforce with the DoD Performance Management Appraisal program. You will provide assistance in reviewing court cases and assist in the preparation of admonishment letters. You will review submissions to ensure regulatory compliance, such as appropriate signatures, timeliness, and rating.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector researching, interpreting, explaining, and/or applying regulations pertaining to employee relations and labor relations (e.g., overseas entitlements and allowances, leave administration, disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals, awards, performance management, indebtedness, financial assistance, et cetera). GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in researching, interpreting, explaining, and/or applying regulations pertaining to employee relations and labor relations (e.g., overseas entitlements and allowances, leave administration, disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals, awards, performance management, indebtedness, financial assistance, et cetera).
