This position is located in the Analysis Division, Office of Counterintelligence, Directorate of Domestic Operations, Bureau of Diplomatic Security.You will be assigned responsibility for managing the day to day activities of a team of intelligence research specialists responsible for coordinating, producing, and delivering all source intelligence support on sensitive issues for Department of State bureaus and offices.
Duties
Provide expert advice and consultation in defining counterintelligence collection requirements and priorities. Provide guidance to policy making officials in interpreting and applying counterintelligence information.
Monitor and report on the status of work progress and review work in progress and completed work to ensure supervisor’s instructions, directions, priorities, and deadlines are met.
Collect, review, analyze, and evaluate intelligence data from various sources in order to identify immediate foreign intelligence threats to US diplomatic missions. Assess foreign intelligence activities, and develop intelligence information.
Evaluate the validity, accuracy, and reliability of information received from the various sources to assess its importance to foreign policy interests in the assignment area.
Present oral briefings on a regular and ad hoc basis to officials at all levels who are involved with or affected by emerging issues and developments.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience providing guidance and advisory services on intelligence related matters.
- Experience utilizing the theories and principles of intelligence collection and counterintelligence and related disciplines in order to analyze and evaluate foreign intelligence threats and counterintelligence issues.
- Experience preparing intelligence reports and delivering briefings on intelligence and counterintelligence issues. - Experience interacting with and maintaining relationships with members of the intelligence community and other agencies in order to obtain/exchange information on foreign intelligence information and issues.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
