This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division (HR), Office of Training, Operations Training Section (TRO).
This position's primary purpose is to support the Office of Training by performing a variety of duties related to operational policies and plans, long term training objectives, identification of DEA training needs and the development of new programs, and training schedules.

As a Training Technician (OA) your typical work assignments may include:
Maintaining inventory control of all lesson plans, student handouts and other essential instructional material.
Developing, designing and monitoring training schedules.
Monitoring and coordinating the use of the accreditation standards database system.
Preparing a variety of statistical reports on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
Ensuring all memoranda, teletypes, and personnel forms are appropriate and complete in the proper format.
Researching and preparing a variety of written materials and reports to fulfill request for information in support of the Training Division.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
GS-07: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 Federal grade level performing the following duties; 1. Assisting in the development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of educational curriculum-based programs; 2. Establishing and maintaining individual training files; and 3. Updating database with appropriate training completion information.
GS-08: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 Federal grade level performing the following duties; 1. Preparing educational materials, maintaining course development materials; 2. Providing recommendations to students completing degree and educational curriculum-based programs and training programs; and 3. Assisting in the development of course objectives and lesson plans for course instructions.
