About the Position: You will be responsible for engineering/materials acquisition phases of detailed planning of maintenance accomplished through construction or service contracts, hired labor, or combination of both. Observe all safety rules, regulations, and directives applicable to the work assigned.

Duties

Serve as Government Purchase Card holder. Maintain computerized vehicle and maintenance program. Prepare various reports relevant to maintenance, materials acquisition, equipment usage, property management for higher authority. Develop plans, specification, material acquisition, and cost estimates. Maintain detailed equipment maintenance, property inventories, and utilization records. Purchase material to support service and construction contracts. Draft correspondence related to contract administration as required. Prepare sketches or other design criteria to define work function. Utilize a financial automated program to develop cost estimates. etc. Perform or lead maintenance and construction work of technical nature required at lake facilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and must maintain the license for the duration of employment.

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as civil engineering, civil engineering technologies, or drafting and design. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, you must have: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying civil engineering practices and techniques; monitoring work for compliance with plans and specifications; conducting property inventories; preparing reports or documents based on inspections; drafting plans; and inspecting the work of others. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as civil engineering, civil engineering technologies, or drafting and design. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-07-Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education
