You will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT (OA) in the ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT at NAVAL AVIATION WARFIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER, NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Duties

You will operate office automation equipment to include electronic typewriters, copiers, personal computers, and facsimile machines. You will use word processing software to create, edit, and manipulate correspondence, reports, and various program documents. You will be responsible for scheduling conference rooms, classrooms and auditoriums through Outlook and Sierra Hotel Aviation Readiness Program (SHARP). You will type a variety of naval and business letters, memoranda, directives, narrative, reports, endorsements and forms. You will perform a variety of record keeping functions in support of organization program and projects. You will receive phone calls and visitors and direct appropriate personnel or other offices when appropriate or furnish information requested. You will develop and track military evaluation/fitness reports, ensuring they are completed on time and in accordance with local and higher echelon directives. You will initiate and prepare requests for supplies and services for the cognizant departments. You will track receipt of supplies and services ensuring 100 percent accountability and all receipts are properly maintained.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and/or carry loads/items weighing up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: using office automation equipment and software to maintain records and produce correspondence in support of office or program functions. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least 4 years above high school

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
