Duties
You will research and consolidate information from a variety of Service personnel regulations, information papers, and issue papers.
You will assemble correspondence packages, duplicate and identify attachments/enclosures, collate papers, verify references and assure propriety and completeness of correspondence/report packages.
You will process routine administrative tasks based on working knowledge of the programs, operations or classified subject matters, and refer other inquires to appropriate personnel.
You will maintain the Division Chief's calendar of events and tentatively schedule appointments as necessary.
You will maintain and organize a comprehensive set of files of classified and unclassified material in consonance with established file index.
You will design office forms and compose routine non-technical correspondence and messages on administrative support or clerical functions of the office.
You will prepare travel requests and all associated actions and documentation.

- You must be a qualified typist capable of providing smooth, error free correspondence (40 words per minute).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative and clerical support. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Composing and typing a variety of correspondence such as messages, letters, directives, memorandums, etc. 2) Organizing information and data to prepare briefing slides. 3) Collecting and compiling a variety of narrative reports and statistical data. 4) Receiving calls, greeting visitors, and responding to requests for routine and non-technical information. 5) Maintaining filing systems and preparing information needed for reports. 6) Making arrangements for meetings and conferences.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
There is no substitute of education for experience for this series at this grade level.
