You will serve as an Executive Specialist for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience (ODR&R), Executive Support Division in Washington, District of Columbia. This position provides support in strategic planning, expert advice, and assistance on a wide range of assignments, such as policy, internal controls, staffing, and coordination of strategic planning, to the Associate Administrator and Deputy Associate Administrator.
Duties
As an Executive Specialist at the GS-0301-14, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Developing program evaluation and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and directing and managing the preparation of analysis to report findings and assisting the ODR&R Leadership in decision-making.
Briefing decisions and action items to ODR&R Directors and other stakeholders on behalf of the Associate Administrator.
Assisting the ODR&R Leadership Team by directing and ensuring the coordination of significant, critical, and high-priority staffing actions, congressional correspondence, and requests for information from all levels of stakeholders.
Maintaining continued awareness of overall disaster-related activities to evaluate effectiveness and keep the ODR&R Leadership informed.
Preparing speaking points and visual presentations for high-level meetings and reviewing/approving presentations prepared by other staff members.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service position with a full-time work schedule.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.

Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.
To qualify, you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate ALL the following:
Evaluating administrative aspects of mission-oriented programs that involve internal controls, strategic planning, and/or data metrics collection and analysis; and
Coordinating special projects and/or ensuring the resolution of problems such as delays, and communication obstacles that cause bottlenecks and/or delays in the accomplishment of objectives; and
Building coalitions within and outside an organization to meet mission goals and objectives; and
Developing narrative and evaluative materials, correspondence, and reports for an organization.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If qualifying based on related unpaid (e.g. volunteer service) experience, you must provide hours worked per week and beginning/ending dates (mm/yyyy to mm/yyyy).
