THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER, Position Description Number D2319000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- This position requires military membership, compatible unit and Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) assignments, and the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance level which is based on the position security access requirement.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.
PHYSICAL EFFECTS:
Requires moderate to strenuous physical exertion when standing, stooping, and bending. Employee is routinely required to occasionally lift heavy objects weighting up to 50 pounds, lifts items between 50 and 200 pounds with assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works indoors and outdoors. May work in inclement weather on icy, wet, hot, and slippery ramps, work stands, ladders, confined spaces and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to the dangers of toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating aircraft surfaces such as speed brakes, flaps, and landing gear, engine noise, heat blast, and intake suction. The employee is exposed to all the above and may be subject to dangers of igh voltage, chemicals, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, paints, solvents, propeller hazard, x-ray radiation, and explosive and chemical munitions processing operations.
