You will serve as a TECHNICIAN (Electronics Technician) in the Systems Integration Department (G), Guns Division (G3), Minor Caliber Guns Branch (G32) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV located in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12.
Duties
You will provide In Service Engineering support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch during the installation, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and conversion of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Minor Caliber Guns.
You will perform highly complex work to troubleshoot, repair, and/or install electronics components, gun mounts, and gun weapon systems.
You will work on mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic systems associated with gun weapon systems.
You will read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and/or electrical schematics.
You will utilize electrical tools and troubleshoot electrical components.
You will advise managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on technical aspects of gun systems or concept development.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- You must be willing and able to maintain good grooming standards in order to properly wear protective equipment while performing the duties of this position.
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band,
NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent grade level) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing electronic engineering methods to support engineering development, installation, or fielding (i.e. testing, troubleshooting, refurbishments, installation, and repairs) of gun weapon systems or electronic components/assemblies to ensure operational readiness.
