The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.

Duties

Responsible for the assembly and fabrication of various electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical items. Fabricate cables/harnesses for munitions and weapon systems. Support integration and testing of fabricated items at respective field test ranges.

Requirements

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Three-year trial/probationary period may be required

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify for the DE-03 pay band based on Experience: General Experience: 1 year of experience which is equivalent to at least the DE-02/GS-05-11 pay/grade level, which includes (1) Diagnose faults in advanced electronic systems in support of weapons and munitions instrumentation projects; (2) Oversee assembly or soldering of printed circuit boards to ensure end product acceptance criteria in accordance with IPC class standards; and (3) Instruct subordinates on the fabrication of cables/harnesses for electronic systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-05-11) OR Successful completion of (a) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology, or (b) 3 years of study in an accredited (by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) curriculum in electronics, or (c) a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-4 or equivalent. At least 12 of the 24 semester hours must have been in electronics courses. NOTE: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
